On A Budget Re-Vamp Your Kitchen For a Fresh New Look
“With kitchens it’s all about functionality and space-efficiency. But the décor is also important. You have to like the way your kitchen looks and you have to enjoy spending time there. It’s why, from time to time, you need to make some changes in order to make the décor seem new and fresh again. It can a simple and refreshing change and the results can be quite impressive. We have some tips that can help you achieve that without having to spend a lot of money.”
Remove The Upper Cabinet Doors
One simple way of changing the décor in your kitchen is to give up some of the features, such as the doors of your upper cabinets. By doing that, you open up the cabinets and you expose their interiors. You get to have open shelves instead of hidden storage. Also, you don’t have to spend any money at all. In fact, you may also repurpose the cabinet doors for some other project.
Use Chalk Board Paint
Using chalkboard paint is a very easy and cheap solution whenever you want to change the atmosphere in a room and to give the décor an update. In the kitchen, chalkboard surfaces are very useful as you can write recipes, notes, grocery lists and all sorts of other useful things on them.
Paint The Floor
Another great way of changing the décor and the atmosphere in the kitchen is to give your floor a new and fresh look. By painting the floor you get to open up the kitchen if you use a bright color, to add color or pattern and to create an eye-catching feature for the room. You can use neutrals, bold colors, combinations of colors or patterns.
Add Some Open Shelves
You can never have too much storage space in the kitchen. So if you want to make a change but don’t want to renovate the whole room you can just add a few new features. For example, you can add some shelves. Place them above the sink, near the window or wherever you have free space. You can use the shelves for storage or for display.
Add Some Bold Dishes – Or Even White Dishes Without Patterns
If you want to add some color to your kitchen you don’t necessarily have to change the furniture or to repaint the floor. You can just add some things that you need anyway. For example, you can replace some of your dishes or you can just buy some new ones that feature bold colors. Display them on an open shelf and allow them to become a part of the décor.
Paint Cabinets and Change The Hardware & Add Simple Window Treatments
In this Kitchen the white tiled counter tops and all cabinets were existing. We upgraded the appliances, added a fun floor pattern in VCT Tile. Removed the solid upper cabinet panels and replaced them with textured glass panels. Painted the cabinets, added a simple colorful window treatment and replaced old hardware with new.” Lots of bang for the buck.”
Add last but not least; Clean off your counter tops – “it will make a world of difference”.
